Arrive and settle into Hotel Camino Real, then join the group for a welcome dinner to kick things off — good food, good company, and a first taste of what's ahead.

Thursday · Culture & Craft

Guided Walking Tour + Evening Cooking Class

AM — A guided walking tour through Antigua's cobblestone streets, led by a local guide who has spent years showing visitors the city's hidden gems, colonial history, and famous ruins.

PM — An evening private cooking class — learning traditional Guatemalan recipes and techniques alongside a local chef, then sitting down together to enjoy what we made.

Friday · Craft & Free Time

Weaving Class + Afternoon Free

AM — A private weaving class in traditional backstrap-loom techniques, taught by local artisans — the patterns, colors, and meaning woven into every piece.

PM — Afternoon free to explore, café hop, and take Antigua in at your own pace.

Saturday · Free Day

Self-Directed Exploration

A full day open for side quests, rest, or exploring further afield — no group plans.

Suggested side quest — Pacaya Volcano hike: ~6–7 hrs round trip (pickup to drop-off), comfortably leaves the evening free.

Alternate — Lake Atitlán day trip: ~2.5–3 hrs each way, typically a 7am–7pm day. Better suited to early risers.

Lower-key option — coffee finca tour near Antigua, if the group wants something shorter. [Not yet confirmed]

Sunday · Closing Celebration

Ancestral Cacao Class + Farewell Dinner

AM — A private, ancestral-style cacao class — the history of cacao in Mayan and Guatemalan culture, how it's grown and processed, and hands-on chocolate-making, followed by tasting.

PM — A farewell dinner together, toasting to the Guatemala leg of the trip.
